What is the Great WVPT Auction?

The Great WVPT Auction is a unique on-air and on-line fundraising event which airs live on WVPT to 40 counties in Virginia and the Washington DC metro area, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, with online promotion and bidding potential worldwide via the internet. New merchandise, certificates, services, art, antiques, and collectibles are auctioned off to viewers who bid both at home by telephone and via the internet.

It’s an exciting way to fundraise in support of WVPT to purchase and provide quality programming and services for our region and to help maintain the technical equipment for WVPT to provide these services. Approximately one-third of WVPT’s budget comes from community support. Plus, The Great WVPT Auction provides YOU with the opportunity to purchase that certain something(s) that you really want!

The Great WVPT Auction is also an excellent opportunity for companies, corporations, small businesses, and individuals to garner valuable television and internet exposure with our loyal Public Broadcasting audience and devoted Auction fans. It’s as simple as donating!

Of course the Great WVPT Auction couldn’t happen without volunteers! Volunteer opportunities are available in all types of categories, including data entry, description writing, or to solicit and/or retrieve items from businesses in your community.
